Ground of Gravel Ride - What is a tour ride?
A tour ride? Let us explain.
Here’s what to expect: a well-organized day, a scenic route, and great atmosphere.
You have a bike, even a gravelbike or a mountainbike, and you regularly ride your training laps, alone or with your cycling buddies. After all those training kilometers, now’s the time to participate in a tour. And what better place to do that than the Ground of Gravel Ride during the 2025 Bolero UCI Gravel World Championships.
Enjoy the ride
A tour ride is a pre-marked route that you ride with other participants on a specific date and time. These rides are not races, so no timing – just enjoyment. Ride nearly 60 km through the most beautiful (gravel) roads in South Limburg.
You won’t get lost: our course team marks the route clearly with bright arrows starting a week in advance. You’ll also receive a GPX file to load into your navigation system. All riders must obey standard traffic rules, but at dangerous intersections, we’ll have traffic marshals to help you cross safely.
Fully supported
Before the start, you will receive a handlebar sign from us to attach to your handlebars, so that you are clearly recognizable as a participant during the tour.
What to bring? Your bike, of course! A helmet is mandatory, and we recommend bringing a water bottle and checking the weather to dress accordingly. We’ve got the rest covered. At the start, you can inflate your tires and get a bike check. Mechanical issue on the road? Call our support number. If needed, we’ll bring you and your bike back to the event area.
Good vibes guaranteed
You’ll find several refreshment stations along the way. What a great atmosphere! Time to dismount, park your bike, and grab something to eat and drink. We’ll provide fruit, cookies, candy, and energy bars and gels from Official Nutrition Partner 226ERS. Of course, you can fill your water bottle with water or isotonic sports drink here. A great energy boost to continue your ride.
Going home empty-handed after the finish? No way! All participants will receive a well-deserved medal at the end, so you can show off at home that you successfully completed the course just before the elite men took to the track. After the effort, it’s time to relax after the finish. At the finish party, you can chat with your cycling friends while enjoying snacks and drinks and, of course, watch the battle for the rainbow jersey live!
